Google Earth and the New York Times

I’ve spent long hours in Google Earth just looking at things. Honestly, checking out things in Africa is my lame attempt at travel. Plus, one day, when my daughter is older, we’ll use Google Earth to learn about the world.

Wikipedia has been on Google Earth for a while now. And so is the New York Times. They have geo-targeted stories on Google Earth for all of us to read. Look.

As you can see from the image, YouTube videos are also on Google Earth. They are also now on Google Maps. Geo-targeted YouTube content can be added to locations. A search in maps.google.com would show your video — or ad.

And the way that Google is experimenting with search, it might come up in normal search pretty soon. Here are the details about getting YouTube videos into Google Earth. Here are the details for Google Maps. Here’s a search for a brand that already has it.
