Why copywriters rule, take 2

September 5, 2008

I think copywriters can succeed in social media. I’ve said it before. Social media involves a lot of searching. Often in my company, I hear “how did you find that?”, when I find that.

Then it occurred to me. As a copywriter, I’ve been trained to write things out in a many different ways as possible. 100 headlines, all basically saying the same thing, but written differently to convey different meaning. It’s a skill that comes in handy when a little tweak of the search string finds gold in the results.

A search for “copywriters are good at searching” turns up a lot of opinions on why copywriters should write web pages. If you’re looking for something online, and can’t find it, contact your local copywriter.

Turns out, we’re good at searching. And that’s a big part of social media.
